We considered the importance of suitable plant selection in the unique climate of the South Island high country.
Greenwood Associates to provide landscape architectural services to complement a multi-unit, serviced apartment resort in Central Otago’s picturesque Cardrona Valley designed by Sumich Architects. Our scope included all planting, hardscape and lighting design on the development site including pedestrian and vehicle circulation, swimming pool, spa and outdoor dining and entertainment facilities. We recognized the importance of suitable plant selection in the unique climate of the south island high country and specified only plants that would withstand heavy snowfall and dry, hot summers. Greenwood Associates also supervised the construction of this project through a bitterly cold winter and experienced the unique weather extremes of the site first hand.
