Greenwood Associates was contracted by Envivo Town Planners to provide a visual assessment and visual simulation imagery for the on-site relocation of an existing dwelling and the construction of a new home designed by Patterson Architects in a beautiful private bay near Rawhiti in the Bay of Islands. The visual assessment written by Richard Greenwood was based on views from the Te Rawhiti Inlet, the body of water that runs between the site and Urupukapuka Island. The site is not visible from the road or neighboring properties so we primarily focused on the views back to the site from passing by boats for our assessment. We worked with local drone photography specialists Aerial Vision to capture GPS plotted photos from over the water for the visual simulation base images. We then applied the proposed dwelling and planting via 3D modeling following NZILA visual simulation best practice. The combination of our visual assessment and visual simulation imagery allowed resource consent to be granted for the project by the Far North District Council.
