We create public landscapes that consciously balance the needs of communities and the environment whilst maintaining or enhancing the identity of a place. Our collaborative design approach results in unique and innovative landscapes as we give careful consideration to cultural, political, social and financial sensitivities to ensure our work is timeless and functional.
We take an empathetic approach to design in our government and civic projects and believe it is vital to truly understand who will be using the spaces we create. We achieve this through practical research such as site use and function studies, public consultation, population statistics and spending as much time as possible at a site, getting a true feel for its sense of place and absorbing all of its intricacies.
Our extensive experience working as part of multidisciplinary project teams on a wide range of projects has led us to be considerate and constructive when collaborating with others and we have an excellent understanding of our changeable roll on any team. We have the ability to lead the design of projects from a landscape perspective, but we also have a great perception of when we are required in a supporting or collaborative role. We are committed to delivering projects on time and budget and have been very successful in doing so since our inception. We believe we truly understand the dynamic of how people go about life together in New Zealand’s diverse landscapes and unique multicultural society.
